Industry-Specific and Issue-Specific Coalitions
Cal-Tax has developed the capability of working with industry sectors of
the membership through coalitions that operate on an ad hoc basis. Coalitions make it possible for sectors of
the membership to focus on tax issues of common interest. Cal-Tax provides staff support with
customized information, reporting, technical assistance and advocacy. For the past five years, Cal-Tax has worked
successfully with industry groups on this basis. As part of this important activity, Cal-Tax attempts to harmonize
the interests of member companies and industry interests to avoid conflicting
policy objectives when issues surface in public debate.
