Coalition Work

Cal-Tax is a valuable asset for industry members who are targeted for punitive tax and fee increases. Cal-Tax partners with industry sectors of the membership through coalitions that can mobilize quickly in response to tax threats. Coalitions make it possible for sectors of the membership to focus on tax issues of common interest before the Legislature, state and local tax agencies, in court and on statewide and local ballots. In addition to customized information services, Cal-Tax provides staff support with technical assistance and advocacy. As part of this important activity, Cal-Tax attempts to harmonize the interests of member companies and industry interests to avoid conflicting policy objectives when issues surface in public debate.
