While final numbers from all counties
typically aren't available until August, The
Sacramento Bee reported July 14 that, according to data from the California
Assessors' Association, the following counties will have the indicated
decreases in their assessment rolls:
El Dorado (6.2
percent), Imperial (1.6 percent), Inyo (3.9 percent), Madera (6.8 percent), Merced
(4.28 percent), Placer (6.25 percent), Sacramento (2.17 percent), San Luis
Obispo (1 percent), Santa Clara (2.25 percent), Siskiyou (0.5 percent), Solano
(3.6 percent), Stanislaus (4.5 percent), Tuolumne (4.9 percent) and Yolo (1.9
percent).
According to the Monterey County Herald, the Monterey
County assessment roll will drop 4.25 percent. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat is reporting that the Lake County
Assessment Roll is down 1.5 percent and the Mendocino County assessment roll is
down 1.02 percent. A big reduction in values also is occurring
in Calaveras County, where the assessment roll is down 12 percent,
according to the Sonoma Union-Democrat.
